Consultant and Client
At PublieksWerk we like to immerse ourselves in our clients’ markets. With our global view of what is going on in the marketplace, we come up with some unexpected ideas for PR opportunities for our clients. For that reason, we prefer to work on the basis of a fixed fee, in return for a guaranteed level of commitment. A new venture often starts on the basis of a short-term agreement for a specific project. The results are the justification for working together on an ongoing basis.
‘The consultant-client relationship is justified by the results.’
PublieksWerk was founded in 2003 by Piet van Reeuwijk and Marije Verdouw.
Piet van Reeuwijk started PublieksWerk together with Marije Verdouw and has 15 years experience in public relations. Piet’s first involvement in communications was as a text-writer with Van Sluis Consultants. His affinity for the written word grew during his first job working as a journalist for VNU’s computer publications. He later became communications manager at EuroNet Internet, a newly formed Internet company. In the space of the three years that he worked there, EuroNet grew into the company behind Orange. From 1999 to 2003 Piet worked as senior consultant for PR agency Lubbers & De Jong, before setting up PublieksWerk.
Characteristic of Piet is, according to Marije: his good technical and commercial understanding of IT, telecomms and Internet, combined with creativity and brainwaves out of the blue. Often referred to as the ‘walking encyclopaedia’.
Marije Verdouw started PublieksWerk together with Piet van Reeuwijk and has 12 years experience in marketing communications and public relations. Her first step on the path was in marketing at USoft, supplier of RAD-software. Here she was responsible for lead generation by Direct Mail and telemarketing, marketing communications, press relations, and the organising of trade shows and customer events. Marije later joined INTAPP, developer of Internet-based applications, where she worked for two years as marketing manager. She set up the Dutch office for INTAPPS and was responsible for overall marketing strategy. From February 2000 Marije worked as a consultant for PR agency Lubbers & De Jong, before setting up PublieksWerk.
Characteristic of Marije is, according to Piet: her pragmatism, understanding of people, and the sort of enthousiasm that fires you up. There’s no mountain too high, but don’t stand in the way.....
